Here is a handy guide so you can decide which classes are right for you.

A Level: These classes are a great place to start if you have no blacksmithing experience or want to brush up on basic skills. In A level classes we will focus on the parts of the anvil and how they are used; hammer control for effective movement of metal; the basics of drawing out, tapering and bending; operation of a propane forge, and shop safety.

B Level: We expand on A level skills with an increased focus on hammering-with-intention to better control the movement of the steel.

C Level: We continue to practice the basic skills of the preceding levels using more complex projects and an increased focus on forging to desired dimensions.

Please note: Beginners are encouraged to start with A Level classes. Once you have a little experience feel free to also explore B Level.

Peter strives to keep the class on track, ensuring that most students can complete their project within the allotted time. To be fair to the entire group, he may assist individual students in catching up so the class can progress together.
