A Season of New Ideas at Fire Arts Blacksmithing School

After a busy and challenging summer, we're taking a break from classes during the 2026–27 winter season. The Hagen Fire and the preparations it required meant putting many of our plans on hold, so we're using this time to catch up, experiment, and prepare for what's next.

Peter will be spending the winter developing new projects, building specialized tooling, and exploring new metalworking techniques. With the addition of a new rolling mill, we're looking forward to expanding into areas such as jewelry and wearable art, Mokume Gane, and electro-chemical etching, while continuing to develop engaging projects for beginning and intermediate blacksmiths.

We're excited about the possibilities ahead and look forward to welcoming students back for an expanded class season in winter 2027–28. In the meantime, we'll be sharing glimpses of what's taking shape in the shop!
